Celebrating Business Excellence and Innovation
I was delighted to receive a call from the UK Business Awards asking me to be a judge on the panel for this year’s celebration.
There are a panel of judges (unusually predominantly female) who come from a wide range of disciplines and together we have the privilege of shortlisting the entries from a variety of categories and then together finding the best in the business. I’m pleased to say one of my fellow BeCollaboration members Glen Williamson is on the panel too, which makes for great discussions.
Being recognised for your company either in sector specific, discipline specific or even for the people you have in your organisation, is a great accolade to receive. Many prospects and clients will be reassured they are with the right company when they see how the UK wide awards are given. Indeed, many see an award as the last piece of proof they require to engage a business.
Like the actors at the Oscars, we kid ourselves that awards aren’t necessary to continue providing excellent service, or creating strategic innovations, yet when another organisation acknowledges your efforts you cannot fail to be thrilled by the recognition. I am certainly looking forward to the awards ceremony when we get to see the look on their faces as they celebrate the awards – the icing on the cake of a wonderful year.
As Brexit looms ever closer, we as a country need reassurance that we are holding our own on the world stage. This ceremony goes some way to celebrate all that is excellent in our SME communities. We are leading the way.
As we learn more about the businesses that are applying for the awards I can guarantee that many new liaisons will be formed, and I’m sure many new collaborations will be started – the best businesses working with the best the UK has to offer. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all entrants good luck and I look forward to meeting them in December.
